Now Playing Tracks

Hi everyone, I’m back once again. Ok so…. I can’t believe we just finished week 8 of Ironhack’s UX UI Bootcamp!! Really time has fled by…

This week we started our last project, my team is…. well… I love working with Janine but it not going so well with our other teammate, I’ve learned that if you’re working with other people you NEED to at least TRY to be in a good mood, help the other teammates and be more open to others opinion……

I hope everything turns to be great because I’m really stressed out and not enjoying my last weeks at Ironhack…

On the other hand I found out how I missed working with people that are from my country, its been great to reconnect with my roots.

I want this week to end already,

omg week number 6 already…

Hi everyone, I’m back once again. Ok so…. I can’t believe we just finished week 6 of Ironhack’s UX UI Bootcamp!! Really time has fled by…

So this week was weird for me, since its a 2-week project I had to slow down and pauso to think and organize myself, I took quite some time to do interviews and organize my findings since there were A LOT of them 😅. I got lucky because I got to interview some interesting people that gave me a lot of good insights! Also this time my “way of working” was different, since I stopped and spent quite some time redacting my statement problem, scenario, business goals, etc. This is something that I tend to rush on and not I don’t really spend a lot of time in….

In the other hand I got to start sketching on Thursday and by today (Friday afternoon) I have the first flow (there are 3 of them 🤯) all done in wireframes, also managed to make my style tile and develop my brand.

I’m proud of myself because tonight I can start the 2nd flow and tomorrow (Saturday) after resting I can start some High-Fi…. Hellena recommended us to start the design report this weekend 💤, and thanks god she said so because otherwise I wouldn’t even think about starting it.

I’m looking forward to Monday since we have Crits and I want to have feedback from my classmates, since I haven’t shared much…..

PS. I’m happy that I got to choose an awesome team for the last project.

PS2. I think that I’ll die next week of a heat stroke.

PS3. I’m going to eat a Cachapa 🇻🇪 for dinner because I deserve it 🤤.

Thank you all for reading ❤️.

5th week

Hiii everyone, so our fifth week at Ironhack’s done, I found this week quite challenging at first because we did not have much lessons about web design, or desktop design, so in my case I had a hard time making layouts for my team and they noticed.

In the other hand I had an amazing team, working with Susi and Paula came naturally, like we worked together in a past life, I really loved this weeks team and I look forward to working for them again.

We ended up having a great result in the redesigning the web page of La Raposa and also Susi managed to make an AMAZING code.

I also learned a thing or to of myself, I really despise desktop web pages and coding too, maybe I should just stick to mobile apps…

Im very tired and the next project (for me) seems really hard and not interesting at all (kinda disappointed since its the last project we are doing alone)

Thank u all 4 reading,

3rd Week

Hi everyone, I’m back…

Today is friday and its the last day of the 3rd week, it was a really nice week since we worked in teams, it went really smooth since we were a great team and managed to divide and conquer. We divided tasks so each one of us managed to focus on that things, and it gave great results, since we had enough time to do each of these tasks and at the end it gave fruits 🍉.

A win for me this week is that I made a new friend ⚡️, Alexandra, hehe, and I did not kill anyone working in teams, since I have 0 patience.

Im looking forward for next week since we are going to learn Principle, and also scared because the flight app is like really hard to do because there are a lot of things to do.

Looking forward to it.

2nd week and I’m not dead yet

…. just yet…..

So hi everyone, it’s me once again, I’ve just finished my second week at Ironhack’s UX UI bootcamp and let me tell you… I’M TIRED.

This week we had a project about making a tracking app, and I must say it went really well, personally I made a tight and demanding schedule but at the end it paid off, because I finished early on and had a lot of time to rehearse my presentation, which btw went REALLY well, all of my classmates told me nice things and I was really proud of myself. Also we were supposed to make a written report over the weekend, but since I managed to fulfill my hell-looking-like schedule I finished writting it on friday morning, thanks to this I got to relax friday and saturday.

On the other hand I’m looking forward to learn more about user flows since Nevan mentioned that they could be smoother than what we are already doing. Also, looking forward to working with my team (Alexandra and Marta) since we already had a few meetings and I think they seem pretty cool and we have good chemistry so far.

Did I mentioned I’m tired? BECAUSE I AM!

Today’s Crits

Today we had Crits with my fellow classmates plus Nevan and Helena. I was in group #1 what means it was “earlybirds crits”. I think for my group it went really well, since it was the first time we got to do Crits the first one to speak (Janine) took more time than it was planned, but Nevan explained and we all got it really quick. It went on and on and we all respected the times set for each part and i actually enjoyed it, since we all asked useful and interesting things and also in my case I got a lot of pretty nice suggestions that I actually got to implement in my project.

In the other hand it was nice that I got to see my fellow classmates projects, since in our group I only knew what two were about, it was refreshing and I’m really glad that we helped each other.

Looking forward to the next one in which we will perform better.

My first week at Ironhack

Ok so I’m back in here, this time to talk about my first week at Ironhack. I think for me it’s a win that I didn’t fall asleep in the middle of a lesson, since it’s very difficult to be awake before 10am. Overall it was a demanding week, since we not only have lessons from 9am to 6pm but also we have group projects that take time (and peace of mind) after school hours, and on top of that we have homework, that being honest I roll my eyes when Hellena send outs the emails from Google Classroom.
I’m really proud of what my team accomplished since (for me) it was the first time doing serious interviews and using the insights to build something, also  doing user testing was pretty neat, as it was a first for me.
As for now, friday 26 6:38pm I’m feeling exhausted, and I little bit frustrated since I don’t really know what questions put in my survey.
As for next week I’m hoping to learn a little bit about Personas, since I’m not sure about that theme.

Looking forward to complain some more on here :)

1st day at Ironhack.

Hi everyone, it’s me again. So today was my first full day at Ironhack’s UX UI Bootcamp, at morning we had our teacher Evan talk to us about all of the 9 weeks of the program, and how’s the bigger picture going to work.

We got to meet eachother, since I couldn’t go to the iron beers, and got to talk privately to a few of my classmates. I’m looking forward to meeting more of them in person, since I already met a few, and looking forward to talking more to the ones that I didn’t get to talk to today.

Since the first minute I felt this is going to be a very intense program, and it’s going to take a lot of dedication and patience. I learned about convergent and divergent thinking, which I didn’t really understand before today, and I was glad that I understood everything since I was really nervous/scared since it’s the first time in my life that I have class online.

This week I’m expecting to learn a bit more about interviewing users, since this is not my best quality. And also I would like to deliver a good group project.

Overall it was a good, a little bit tiring, but good day. Looking forward to writing more of these posts.

Hello there!

Hi, I’m Fabiana, but everyone calls me Fabi, and I encourage you all to call me this way hehe. I’m from Caracas, Venezuela and I’ve been living in BCN for the past 6 years.

Since I’m a graphic designer with no previous work experience I’m excited to learn a lot more about UI design, also a little bit of programming since I don’t really understand anything about it :).

Nice to meet you all.
